Employer Nomination Visa (Subclass 186)

If you're interested in the visa subclass 186, let me give you the lowdown. Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Yes! No skill assessment hoops to jump through!" Sorry to burst your bubble, but actually, you will need to go through a skills assessment to prove your expertise in your nominated occupation. But don't worry, we'll help you navigate that process.

Moving on, before you start packing your bags and throwing another shrimp on the barbie, make sure you've got a competent level of English under your belt. This means you should be able to tell the difference between "mate" and "date." So, if you're not quite there yet, time to grab a dictionary, or better yet, grab a mate who's a native English speaker.

Now, don't forget about any secondary applicants over the age of 18. They'll need to prove their Functional English ability, which is a fancy way of saying they'll need an IELTS score of 4.5 or higher. I'm sure they'll just love spending more time hitting the books, but hey, it's all worth it in the end, right?

Occupation and Skills

The Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa (subclass 186) is your ticket to experiencing the best of regional Australia as a skilled worker. However, before you start planning your new life Down Under, make sure your occupation is on the relevant list of skilled occupations and that you meet the requirements for English proficiency and work experience. And don't forget the skill assessment.

English Test

Your English language skills will be crucial in obtaining the Australian visa you desire. While at least a competent level of English is required, you can earn additional points for proficient or superior scores.

Pathway to Permanent Residency

TSS visa holders who are eligible and have an occupation listed on the Regional Occupation List can apply through the Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS). However, it's important to note that this pathway will only be available for two years, starting from its launch on 1 July 2022
